Investment Approach
Thackeray seeks real estate investments that provide recurring current income distributions as well as capital appreciation, in a diversified portfolio of assets. Our approach toward building this portfolio is typically via joint ventures with local operating partners who play a key role in Thackeray’s acquisition/development and asset management process.
Our founders and principals have cultivated a network of best-in-class operating partners over our 20-year history. Key attributes we value in our operating partners include local market knowledge and presence, access to proprietary deal flow, and demonstrated track record of value creation. Deal structures vary based on asset returns and required degree of value creation.
Thackeray will consider both acquisition and development opportunities in population and employment growth markets across the U.S. Our preferred product types are rental housing and distribution warehouses and our typical deal size ranges from $20-$60 million.
