Thackeray Partners Completes Management Buyout, Returns to Fully Independent Investment Firm

Dallas, Texas — November 14, 2025 — Thackeray Partners (“Thackeray”), a real estate investment management firm established in 2005, today announced that its leadership team, led by Rob Bennett and Joe Chu, has completed a management-led buyout, reestablishing Thackeray as a fully independent, management-owned enterprise. Thackeray has a distinguished track record of executing attractive investments in the rental housing and industrial asset classes for over 20 years. To date, the firm has closed or committed to transactions totaling over $6.7 billion, representing over 29,000 rental housing units and nearly 24 million square feet of industrial space. Thackeray will remain headquartered in Dallas and Co-Managing Partners, Rob Bennett and Joe Chu, will oversee the Thackeray business. The transaction represents the next step in the firm’s evolution, allowing Thackeray to continue executing its established investment strategy across U.S. growth markets and to build on the legacy established by its original co-founders, Tony Dona and Mary Hager. In returning to an independent firm, Thackeray maintains strong alignment with its investment partners and continues to move quickly to capitalize on opportunities to maximize value for those partners.
